How to Select the Perfect Corsage for Prom

Prom is almost here, and you’re looking down your list to make sure everything is done. Dress? Check. Shoes? Check. Hairstyling appointment? Check. Corsage? Let’s hope you have that checked, because that small floral arrangement sitting on a girl’s wrist is an important part of prom night. But if you don’t know where to start, then read over these simple tips in order to get the right corsage for you or your date.

Match the flowers to the dressHow to Select the Perfect Corsage for Prom

You don’t want your corsage to look out of place—it should complement the dress and overall outfit of the wearer. So make sure the colors complement the colors of the dress. Not sure what your date might be wearing? Then go with a neutral color, like white, just to be safe.

…And to the boutonniere

A boutonniere is similar to a corsage, except it’s worn by the male date on his jacket’s left lapel. The flowers on the boutonniere should match the flowers on the corsage almost exactly, but be simpler in style.

Store it in the fridge until prom night

If you don’t want to pick up your corsage and boutonniere the day of prom, or if you’ve had it delivered a few days early, then you need to find a way to keep it fresh for a day or two. Thankfully, corsages and boutonnieres can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours; just be sure to keep them away from any food.

If you’re still looking for a place to order your corsage and/or boutonniere, then give Dallas House of Flowers a call. We have plenty of corsages and boutonnieres for you to choose from!
